This picture is of the main pyramid. When the spring and summer equinox comes around the light shines only on the serpent. The serpent is only on one side of the pyramid. Our tour guide told us that this pyramid is a giant Mayan calendar! It was huge.
This is the same pyramid from a different side. The stairs were very steep. When you were able to climb the stairs you had to use a rope. You can see the wear lines from climbers.
This is a Mayan Sauna! It was very tiny maybe only 3 people could fit in it.
This is a picture of the Mayan rain god. The curly thing is his nose, either side are his eyes and just below are his fangs! This symbol was all over the place!
This was the first building we saw on our tour. This is the Mayan Astrological Observatory! They call it "The Shell" because the walls wrap around eachother like a shell. It has 4 windows at the very top that on certain times during Venus' orbit you can see venus through one of the windows! Phil got more on his camera so I will deinately add more from his view!
