Resolution!

The old resolution of health and losing weight has never worked for me. When food is there I have little or no self control (unless I'm sick)! I have decided on a different path to the same result as the afore mentioned resolution. I have decided to do my best to avoid fast food restaurants. Now, I did decide that it might be impossible to avoid unless I have some compromises with myself. So I can eat at a fast food restaurant if it is a special occasion such as a trip, date or girls night. Those of you who are also fast food junkies know how hard this will be! Good luck with your own resolutions in the next year!

Decor for the New Year!

I've been thinking about some fun and easy decor I could make for my completely white apartment. I saw on TipJunkie a cool tutorial for a felt garland and then I had an idea for a kissing ball. Here are the pics and materials list.

Garland:

9 colors of felt cut into whatever shapes you like. Mine are slightly ovally.
Clear thread, I found mine at Walmart.
Needle or sewing machine. I used my sewing machine. Much faster

Sew down the middle of each shape. Attach the next shape just before you get to the end of the previous shape. I hope that makes sense. Enjoy!

Kissing Ball:

4" styrofoam ball
4-5 bags of Glitter pompoms (walmart)
Glue Gun

Long piece of yarn.

Tie the yarn around the ball securely. Proceed to randomly glue the pompoms all over the place.

Key craft and Christmas Pics

I have lost my keys several times over the past few months. The longest was a week. Not my fault because the kids like the noise they make. Of course when we do find them Morgan always says he knew exactly where they were! After this last time I decided to make something cute to hold them for me, away from small hands. This is the result!

Phil wanted to get Morgan an Electronics snap kit! They have made an AM radio, light flashing thing and a bunch of other cool things! Morgan oves it!

I knew Phil would never wear one of those awesome sweaters that Andy wore so I got him a T-shirt with a sweater right on it!

Santa visited the library this year! This Santa was really good. The kids all asked him for a pillow pet! Franklin didn't know what to think.

What do you do with those random thoughts that won't let you go to sleep at night?

For the last few nights I have been unable to sleep because of crochet patterns and a poem rolling around in my head! Of course the easiest way for me to be able to sleep was to get up and write/type them. So here is one thing I wrote down:

Christmas Decor!

We aren't going to have a tree this year due to it being in our storage unit in Missouri! So, I have to make up for it in decorating as much as I can. I saw an idea in a magazine(can't remember which one)to use the colored bulbs you normaly hang on your tree as a garland!

This was the first try. Not sure if I'll keep it. What do you think?

This is over our fireplace! It's a work in progress but we're having fun doing it!

This last Wednesday I was at Babies'r'us and the photographer there asked me if I wanted to spin the wheel and win a prize! I did and I won a free sitting and a free 10x13 portrait! We went last night and got some adorable pics!

Glorious Food Blog!

My sister Kizzie, my cousin Michelle and I have started a food blog! The original concept was to recreate restaurant food at an inexpensive price. This week we will be featuring a variety of ways to make Macaroni and Cheese. Starting tomorrow there will be atleast one recipe a day for you to try out!

Fall Fun!

Wow! Update

Wow. I haven't posted anything since school started! Well...

On September 16th Jill, my sister-in-law got married! She is now Jillian Hunsaker! Her husbands name is Will!

Nothing real interesting happened between then and now. Except that Phil accepted a job in Colorado! We are so excited to be going back to the same ward we were in! We will be moving on October 22nd! Phil will be leaving on Sunday and won't be back until the 22nd to help load everything up.

Of course I couldn't let Franklin out. He has a habit of eating the bark out of the garden area!
